B.J. Pinchbeck's Homework Helper

B.J. Pinchbeck's Homework Helper is a website created by BJ Pinchbeck a 21 year old senior at Drexel University who started working on this site since he was 9 years old together with his dad. The website focuses on more than 800 fantastic educational links for students (and parents) to use to help with their homework.

According to the U.S. Kids Magazine "This site is the best homework helper ever." -- Besides, it’s just inspiring what he has accomplished at such young age. Kids on the digital age are just getting closer to the world and to think what was once unreachable is not any more.

Free Parenting Tool

Parents,

I found this wonderful site full of tips makes the idea of watching a movie into a great family adventure which will help you and your kids to share, learn and have fun.

Kids Off the Couch Website was founded by two moms, Diane Shakin and Sarah Bowman, it offers a free, weekly, fun filled, adventure that shows parents how to connect families to each other and the world around them. "Their idea is to get kids off the couch by sitting them on the couch to watch a movie. Which means that you can take an activity that you and your kids would do anyways (a family movie night or trip to the theater) and turn it into a family adventure afterwards (the "off the couch" portion of the entertainment). " From the Goody Blog

The free newsletter includes red flags for parents to know about beforehand, conversation starters for after the movie, and cultural connections.

From Print to Digital

I read this post written by Jeff Utecht on The Thinking Stick and it makes so much sense to our teachers here at the American School, since they are starting to use blogs as a communication tool with their students and their parents. I truly believe that once they get the hang of it they will become amazing bloggers.
