LIFE- The World in Pictures

Shared by Free Technolody for Teachers Blog!

I wrote about Googles LIFE Photo Archive before.

This time the LIFE website is now live and offering great visual resources appropriate for using them in teaching.

"There are five categories and many subcategories of images. The five main categories are News, Celebrity, Travel, Animals, and Sports." - Free Technolody for Teachers Blog

"The homepage of LIFE offers slideshows of popular photographs from each of the five photograph categories. The news slideshow offers images of current news as well as "this day in history" images. "- Free Technolody for Teachers Blog

10x10

10x10 is a great way to visualize what words mean in pictures.

Every hour, 10x10 collects the 100 words and pictures that matter most on a global scale, and presents them as a single image, taken to encapsulate that moment in time. Each hour is presented as a picture postcard window, composed of 100 different frames, each of which holds the image of a single moment in time.

Every hour, 10x10 scans the RSS feeds of several leading international news sources, and performs an elaborate process of weighted linguistic analysis on the text contained in their top news stories.

10x10 was designed and developed by Jonathan Harris.
